Patrick is the founder of ORGMASTR. With more than 25 years of leadership across numerous industries, he is now focused on supporting clients’ organization capability. From ‘how the organization works’ to ‘success profiling’ and organization strategy, the emphasis for ORGMASTR is integrating a multi-discipline approach to organization science and strategy.
ORGMASTR is founded on understanding organization dynamics and effectiveness through analytical methods across behavioral, social, and management sciences. We aim to ‘see’ and analyze organization through its human and techno-structure character, and how they operate as one. We also see organization in its setting – social and economic – as how it is designed links this setting with its internal environment and aims.
As a former leader in roles such as managing director or COO, Patrick’s emphasis has been on practical organization development and change. A pattern of attention and empathy emerged through all types of sectors and organizations – the focus on organization capability. This led to devoting some time and commitment to formalizing this interest. This was mainly through a doctoral research program and further learning, specializing in organization design and behavior. His research interest has been in government, public administration, and NGO sectors, focusing on structure and workforce capability. These sectors exhibit particular characteristics and settings which tend to be less well explored through management sciences or consulting, and demand a high degree of context-based thinking and insight for organization strategies.
Prior to ORGMASTR, Patrick held numerous senior roles in NGO, government and industry, predominantly in the UK. He is now based in the UAE. He is a graduate of Cardiff Business School (MBA), and also holds master degrees in philosophy, heritage, politics, and forestry (a long-term interest!). He has an alumnus of institutions such as the London School of Economics, Leicester University, and Bangor University. Despite a life-long learning interest, this didn’t actually start until 15 years after leaving school, learning to learn sometimes takes time!
