Dr. Nidhal Ben Cheikh Associate Partner

Nidhal holds a PhD in economics from the University of Paris and is currently working as a consultant and advisor in the field of social protection and evaluation of development policies (21 years’ experience). He has held several positions since 2001 in the Tunisian administration, including Economic Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs and Director of Studies at the Center for Research and Social Studies (CRES). He works regularly with several International Organizations and UN agencies, in particular the World Bank, UNDP, UN-Women, ILO and UNICEF. He is also an active member of several networks such as the Middle East and North Africa Social Policy Network (MENASP) Research Network at the University of Bath (UK) and the Economic Research Forum (Egypt) around the issues of evaluation of social protection programmes, poverty and inequality. His area of expertise covers social and child protection, evaluation of the impact of social safety nets on poverty, the informal economy, poverty measurement and analysis, gender analysis and human development, and healthcare patient-centric evaluation. He has several scientific articles and publications on the topics of social protection and measurement of the informal economy and social programming.
